The March Revolution
- By the beginning of 1917, the people of Russia were already angry because of the many lives lost in WWI
- With a shortage of fuel and bread, 90,000 textile workers went on strike because of the shortages
- Workers were also turned down on a 50% pay increase -Tsar Nicholas banned protesting and therefore sent soldiers to shoot any protestors violating this new law -With an ending number of 400,000 people, the strike ended strong and attracted many new people that wanted to help the cause

Tsar Nicholas II Abdicates
- In agreement with the Duma, he abandoned the throne
- Nicholas named the Grand Duke Michael Alexandrovich as his successor
- Nicholas abdicated due to the break down of Russia
- Abdication of Nicholas brought an end to the three centuries of ruling by the Romanov's

Bolshevik Revolution
- along with Nicholas' abandonment of the throne, this brought the Romanov ruling to an end
- revolution started when about 11 milliion peasants were sent to fight in WWI
- Also leading to the start of the revolution, workers marched to actories -About 50,000 workers started a strike and a multitude of riots
- Bolsheviks now led the soviets
