Food and fuel shortages were a main cause of the government collapse. Rallies and strikes were held by the citizens of St. Petersburg. On the advice of military and political leaders, Nicholas II was forced to give up his throne. -
The March Revolution
This revolution is known as the February Revolution in Russiabecause this originally took place in February of 1918, according to the Julian Calendar). During this time, people gathered for huge strikes against industrial workers to fight for bread. Because of all the trouble, the imperial government was later forced to resign. -
