    The Decembrist Revolt
    Russia army officers led about 3,000 soldiers to protest agains czar Nicholas the 1st. People protested because of his assumption of the throne after his older brother Constantine removed himself. This was named the Decembrist Revolt because it happened in December.
  • Czar Alexander II Emancipates the Serfs

    Czar Alexander II Emancipates the Serfs
    Alexandrer the 2nd freed the serfs, and made lots of changes to end poverty. He was not much of an autocrat unlike many other czars. Sadly, he was assinated. Three things that he did that lead to the Russia Revolution are he freed the serfs. Making nobles or anyone who used serfs very mad. Then all of those people who were mad started groups, and it caused Russia a lot of problems. Finally, after he was assinated Alexander the 3rd made lot of changes because of that.
  • The Assassination of Alexander II

    The Assassination of Alexander II
    Alexander was assasinated by Nikolai Rysakov a member of the Narodnaya Volya. He was carrying a small white package wrapped in a handkerchief. It was thrown at Alexander and it ended up being a bomb. Alexander died in St. Petersburg. His assasination was one of the causes that lead to the Russia Revolution. Another cause was Alexander the 3rd was mad about his death so that was another contributer to the Revolution. Then another one was the people that killed him gained power after he died.

    The Russo-Japanese War
    8 February 1904 – 5 September 1905 was the date of the Russo-Japanese War. The war took place in Eastern Russia. Moscow and St. Petersburg were more popular cities of Russia but very far from the war place. This contributed to the Revolution because Japan and Russia were not getting along, so that made one more enemy for Russia. They used a lot of their money, and a lot of people died. So for Russia that was a disadvantage for them in the future. Finally, is just made them weeker as a country.
  • Bloody Sunday

    Bloody Sunday
    Blood Sunday was a horrible event with 100's of people dying and 1000's of people being injured. There was a huge protest at the Winter Palace because of the horrible work conditions and many other things. This contributed to the Revolution because it showed the lack of supplies Russia had. They couldn't even have nice enough places for people to go to work. Then, people were killing eachother. That showed that these people were not very respectful. Lastly, it showed that they hated their czar.

    This revolution started because of the Russo-Japenese War. Russia was once again falling apart. This did not help for future events because Russia could not come together as a country. Also they had a hard time with Japan so they really were not ready for more to come.

    Russia joined the war in 1914. They started to battle Germany. This was a huge problem because they had no weapons. They had some, but very few. People were starving to death. People were not very fond of their czar. Russia was really starting to fall apart.

    He abdicated the throne because he felt it was his fault for World War 1. All the Russians were blaming him for what had happened. So he thought is was best if he just abdicated. This was a terrible loss for Russia, but no one else thought so.

    All the things that happened in Russia lead up to this event. First Nicholas abdicated the throne, so he was replaced with a provisional government. Then their loss against Germany made it even worse. Also all of the events that had happened in the last 100 years contributed a little bit to this horrible event. Fighting started in Petrograd, and then went all over.
