The invasion began with Charles XII in 1708,and effectively ended in the battle of Poltava on July 8,1709. After this he still threatened to invade Russia for several years while under the protection of Ottoman.Charles as the military leader and his army defeated the danish and Polish forces, then began to put his full attention to Russia.He entered Russia by crossing a frozen river with 40,000 men half of them were cavalry.On May 1709 they were defeated by the Russians and forced to surrender. -

February 1825-1855 he was the emperor of Russia he is best known to be a political man. He was a soldier who fought in the Crimean War in 1853. He inherited his brother Alexander the 1 throne a lot of these people were not happy because he caused a lot of expensive wars causing multiple effects on the Empire finances. He was best known for ending the Russo-Persian War in 1826. -

It was an unequal treaty in Russia in 1858 the Russian emperor and ruler of China had established a border between East of Russia and Manchuria. Russia desired to become a naval power in the Pacific they established near the Amur river. China didn't realize what they were doing, they soon went to war with Russia but were losing so they soon negotiated and came to an agreement. -

He was the emperor of Russia (King of Poland) from March 10, 1845- November 1,1894 he died in October 20, 1894. He was a man of peace in 1887 he signed the Reinsurance Treaty (A secret agreement between Germany and Russia).They both agreed to observe if Germany should attack France or if Russia should attack Austria Hungary. -

In 1917 The Russian empire collapsed with the abdication of Nicholas the 2nd. The revolution focused around Petrograd and then in the Capital of Russia. The army leader felt they didn't have to suppress the revolution because of Nicholas abdication. Soviets who were led by radical socialist permitted the Provisional Govt. to rule, they influenced the Govt to control various militians. -

But there was another Revolution later in October of the same year and changed the political landscape and vanished the Constituent assembly in 1918.The SRs soon split into pro and anti -Bolshevik factions. They were later destroyed by the Govt.leader Alexander Kerensky in the Russian Civil War.
