In the second punic war was against Hannibal. The war involved combats in the western and eastern Mediterranean. Rome ended up winning this war. -

In this war the Romans were lead by Scipio the Younger. The Romans captured and destroyed the city of Carthage and turned Africa into another provence of the Roman Empire. -

Julius Caesar in Rome

Caesar played a critical role in the destruction of the Roman Republic and the Rise in the Roman Empire. He gained control through military force. He was eventually named dictator of Rome. -

Julius Caesar died after some Roman senators came up with a plot to kill him. There were many ways they thought about killing him, but they ended up stabbing him to death with daggers. -

Augustus was the first Roman emperor as he completed the change from a rupublic. He focused on military power and lawmaking to become Rome's lone ruler. -

Augustus dies

Augustus died while his empire was at peace and in good standing. It is reported that his last words were “I found Rome of clay; I leave it to you of marble.” -

Gladiators were trained very well with weapons like swords. They were then put in a contest and some even state that "...it was plain butchery." The main purpose of these games were to entertain the people. -

In AD 79 Mount Vesuvius erupted and burried the city of Pompeii. Some decided to flea the city, but for those who didn't, conditions became unlivable. A dence cloud formed over the city making it hard to breath. -

Fall of Rome
476 AD
The Roman Empire came to an end after many bad defeats. Two of these defeats included a catastrophic loss to the Visgoths and a loss to Attila the Hun. By 476 the last of the Western Roman Emperors were replaced by the Germans. -
Burning of Rome
64 AD
The Great Fire of Rome brought great devistation to Rome. Some accounts creditied Emperor Nero for starting the fire while others credit him for containing it. The Christians were blamed for the fire which lead to the first Christian persecution. -
Romans destory the Temple

In 66 AB Jews rebelled against their Roman masters. The Romans continued fighting the Jews and eventually turned all their attention to Jerusalem. In 70 AD the Romans made it into Jerusalem and destroyed the Temple that was the center of Judaism.
