    Augustus (Positive)

    He Restored peace in the Roman Empire, built or restored 82 temples in one year and Changed marriage and birth laws. Economy and agriculture started flourishing.
    His influence was positive because Rome flourished economically and also culturally since he built a lot of temples.
  • Period: 14 to 37

    Tiberius (Neutral)

    He cut taxes and improved tax system and improved civil services.
    Tiberius didn't do much for the Empire. He was liked by some because he cut taxes and improved civil services but he was also hated because of some of his failures in war.

    Claudius (Positive)

    He removed some taxes, increased efficiency of the army by adding ranks, conquered Britain and expanded the empire.
    Claudius had a positive impact conquered an important part of Europe and expanded the Roman Empire. He was liked by a lot of people because of his conquer and also because he removed some taxes.

    Nero (Negative)

    He killed his wife, his mother, and everyone was afraid of him.
    Everyone was afraid of Nero; anyone who opposed him could have been executed. This didn't have a positive impact on the empire because Nero had enough too much power and he only though about benefitting himself.

    Vespasian (Positive)

    He stopped a war in Judea, granted stability for the empire, built temples, theaters, and started the Coliseum.
    Vespasian had a positive impact. He stopped a war and improved Rome culturally by building new structures.
  • Period: 79 to 81

    Titus (Positive)

    He completed the Coliseum, won the Jewish war, dealt with the fire in Rome and the eruption of mount Vesuvius.
    Titus was a good emperor. He was able to complete the Coliseum started by Vespasian and developed Rome culturally. Titus also won a war and proved himself as a good military leader. He was able to deal with a few disasters that happened in the Italian peninsula.

    Nerva (Neutral)

    He reformed laws for the poor.
    Nerva didn't do much for the empire. He only reformed some laws. This wasn't a bad thing but didn't affect the empire much.

    Trajan (Positive)

    He Maintained peace and built a lot of aqueducts, roads, bridges and built the pantheon.
    Trajan was one of the Emperors that ruled during the Pax Romana. He was able to keep the peace and also built things that developed Rome's: culture, civil services, transportation, military, and economy.

    Hadrian (Positive)

    He maintained peace, built Hadrian’s wall, kept the army intact, built aqueducts, temples, amphitheaters, and bathhouses.
    Hadrian was one of the emperors from the Pax Romana so he was able to maintain peace in Rome. He wasn't a great conquerer and instead of conquering new areas he strengthened the army. He also built a lot of things to help develop Rome's transportation, civil services, and culture.

    Antoninus Pius (Neutral)

    He brought peace in Asia, protected slaves and refused to execute senators.
    Antonius was liked by many because of his generosity; he spared a lot of senator's life, protected slaves, and brought peace. This didn't influence the growth of the Empire so even though he was very popular, Antonius didn't have a major impact on the empire.

    Marcus Aurelius (Positive)

    He maintained peace, changed some laws, and unified the empire economically.
    Marcus Aurelius was one of the emperors of the Pax Romana. He maintained peace in Rome. He strengthened the empire's economy and made some reforms to the laws of the empire. Marcus had a positive impact on Rome.

    Commodus (Negative)

    He managed affairs poorly, allowed officials to abuse citizens. The decline of Rome started.
    Commodus wasn't a hard working emperor and din't do anything good for the empire. He was disliked by many because he allowed officials to abuse citizens and he wasn't able to manage affairs.

    Diocletian (Neutral)

    He brought peace to the empire but divided the power too much amongst other rulers.
    Diocletian restored peace in the empire but he was ruling with three other rulers, one being a ruler and the other two being their successors. He distributed the power poorly and didn't have a good or bad impact on Rome.

    Constantine (Neutral)

    He converted the Empire to Christianity.
    Constantine converted to Christianity soon before becoming the emperor of Rome. He ended the persecution of the Christians and changed the empire's religion to christian. Religion affects the way of thinking. The decisions made from when the empire was converted to christianity on were probably all based on the christian religion and this could have affected Rome positively or negatively.
