    Hindenburg agreed to offer the chancellorship to Hitler and inviting him to form government.
  • Boosting Hitler

    His move to ultimate power was a destructive fire in the Reichstag building in Berlin. This allowed the Nazis to define their own legal limits and Hitler could remove political opponents by putting restrictions on everything.
  • The Enabling Act

    The Nazis introduced The Enabling Act into the Reichstag. The Enabling Act allowed Hitler to govern without reference to Reichstag. The Nazis rigged the vote to pass the idea and it was passed.
  • Concentration Camps Start Construction

    Hitler authorizes permission to start construction of concentration camps. These camps were for the political's that didn't agree with Nazis ideas or policies.
  • Killings of Several Leaders

    Hitler gained support of the German Army by killing off several of the uncontrollable SA.
  • Rearmament

    Hitler reintroduced to the draft. The following year Hitler introduced his Four-Year Plan and wanted to prepare the nation's military for war. By 1939 Germany had more than 900,000 soldiers and 8,000 aircrafts iwth 95 warships.
  • Rhineland

    The Versailles treaty prohibited Germany from stationing any military forces in certain areas. Later in the year, in March, Hitler ordered German soldiers to take defiance to the treaty.
  • Economic Growth

    Hitler laid out his concerns about Germany's economic growth. He stressed the need for self sufficiency in food and raw materials.He wanted expansion into Eastern Europe so Germany could access land and raw materials there.
  • Munich Agreement

    Hitler planned to meet with british prime minister. At the first meeting agreed with Hitler's demands. The second meeting Hitler demanded German forces to be granted immediate access to Sudeten. The third meeting met in Munich to resolve it. They signed an agreement approving the Nazi takeover of the Sudetenland. German troops entered 2 days later...
  • Anschluss

    Under pressure from the Nazis, the chancellor in Austria chancellor held a vote on Austrian independence. The vote was probably rigged. So Hitler told him to relinquish power to the Nazis or face invasion. German forces crossed the border the next day and Hitler joined Austria and Germany under one government.
