Hitler had volunteered at age 25 by enlisting in the army. In 1918, Hitler received the Iron Cross 1st Class, this was rare for a foot soldier. Hitler was sentenced to jail because of political crimes and during his time in jail he choose to write an autobiography called Mein Kampf. The title of the book Mein Kampf translated into english means my struggle, the book is split into two volumes. the book talks about Hitlers life and his political views and ideology. Stock Market Crashes
Germany was very dependent on forign economies at this time because it had many loans from different countries after the treaty of versailles. When the stock market crashed Germany was in a very vulnerable place and got hit the worst. Every one in three people in Germany became unemployed. Sense the times were so bad a election would be held and Hitler saw this as a time to expand the Nazi’s power and champaign. The Nazi party would win this election and take control of Germany. -

When Hitler became the chancellor he urged there to be a reelection of the Reichstag. During the reelection the Nazi party was able to gain 43% of the votes even though this was not the majority it still won. This allowed the Nazi party to hold 43 out of 45 seats in the Reichstag. -
