However, he would always be excited for adventure and volunteer to do anything dangerous. The GPW was created in 1919. Hilter joined, and became a major speaker for the group. In 1920 Hiltler recommended that they change their name to the National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP).

The members of the executive committe that ran the Nazi Party thought that Hitler was too powerful, eventually, Hitler resigned. After his resignation, the Party realized that the Nazi Party would end without him, so Hilter agreed to come back as long as they made him chairman and gave him dictorial powers.

In response to Hilters attempt at the Beer Hall Putsch, Hitler was put into the Landsberg Prison. Hitlers time in jail was not punishable in any way, he was allowed guests and got gifts regularly. Whilst in jail, Hilter spent his time writing Mein Kampf, a book about his plan for a Third Reich and a clear exposition of the nightmare that would follow in Europe.

The people wanted to bring society back to what it was like when the Kaiser was there. Many people beleived that having Hitler be Chancellor would bring them closer to that goal. They wanted him to wreck the republic so that eventually they could have someone else, possibly a decendent of the Kaiser take over.
