Roman Rule of Israel

during this time, Romans ruled over Israel. Rome allowed the Jews to continue to practice their religion and provided them with protection. By the beginning of the common era, They had spread to neighboring countries, but the civilizations around them disliked them.

The birth of Jesus

The day Jesus, the son of God, was born in Nazareth. Making a start of the Christian religion as and soon to become a world icon. Gave order and meaning to life for many people and became the embodiment of good deeds. He died in 36 CE.

Paul of Tarsus

He was one of the first saints. born in 4 BC and died in 64 AD. He played a major role at the beginning of Christianity. 13 books in the new testament are made by st. paul. there is thought to be more of his writings but they had not survived the test of time.

The Great Fire of Rome

Emperor Nero set Rome ablaze and in the afterwords, blamed the Christians for the fire. Using them as a scapegoat to regain public opinion.

Perpetua

born in 182 and died in 203. She was a Christian martyr. Her writing had survived throughout the years becoming rehearsed even today. she lived in the Great Prosecution and wrote about her experiences untill she died by the age of 21 in the arena.

A time when Christians were being killed for their beliefs and their devotion to their god compared to the emperor. Christians were killed off by burnings, being fed to animals and many other ways. All by the hands of emperor Diocletian. I some instances, Christians could leave if they resented their god, however, it was a mortal sin to do that, so they decided to stay with waht they belived, iven if that ment death.

Constantine the great.

Born in 306 and died in 337. He was declared as Augustus after his dad had died. But during his rule, he experienced a civil war which would later convert him to Christianity. He was the first Christian emperor to convert to Christianity. He fought in the battle of Milvian Bridge and later in his life, he sighed the edict of Mulan. He later influenced the Roman Empire to Christianity.

Faught outside Rome near the Tiber river during a Roman civil war. It was between Constantine and Maxentius. The day before the battle, Constantine saw a cross in the clouds and later that night had a vision of Jesus telling him to put the cross on the shield. even though they were outnumbered. they still prevailed.

Signed by Constantine, making all religions equal and anyone could choose their religion. It's like the first amendment in the bill of rights.

Emperor Theodosius

Theodosius the great was a Roman emperor that was born in 347 and died in 395. He had also become a Christian emperor of Rome. He made enforced Christian orthodox using his power. He had a strict hatred for Tax evaders, heretics and pagans during his life time.
