Battle of Gonzales
The conflict began when the citizens of Gonzales refused to return a borrowed cannon loaned by the Mexican army. After the Gonzales male citizens invaded Mexican territory, the following day on October 2nd, 1835, is when the battle began which started the Texas Revolution.
