Marconi was an italian inventor. He sent and recieved the first radio signal in 1895. It wasnt real radio, it was a radio signal. Some say he was not the first, maybe it was good public relations.

Lee De Forest created(or borrowed the idea for) the audion tube. It is a vacuum tube that amplified signals. Believed that a canadian inventor, Reginald Fessenden, acyually came up with the idea, but he didnt make it to the history books.
