I graduated from Cabell Midland High School with High Honors. I earned the superlative of "Most Likely to Save the World." -
Began College
I began my collegiate journey at Morehead State University as a Music Education Major. I was admitted on a Clarinet scholarship. -
Transferred to Marshall University
During the Summer of 2010, I realized that my true passion was in the elementary classroom. As much as I loved teaching music, it was to elementary students. Unfortunately, most jobs in music education are not at the elementary level. Therefore, I changed my major to Elementary Education and received a minor in Music. I also transferred to Marshall University, as it had a stronger program for Elementary Education. -
Student Teaching
I completed my student teaching in the 5th Grade and Kindergarten. -
Graduated from Marshall University
I completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Music, and graduated from Marshall University! -
First Teaching Job
I received my first teaching job 4 days before school began. I received a long-term position teaching Special Education in a local Elementary School. -
First Contracted Position
I received my first contracted position teaching Kindergarten at the same school as I had been previously working in. I taught an add on classroom with 10 children starting in January. -
Continuing Contract
After being RIF-ed, I ended up getting hired at my current school teaching Kindergarten. I was immediately welcomed into a team of fantastic educators, and my grade-level partner completed both High School and College with me.
