    On April 1, 1815 Otto Von Bismarck was born. For the first six years of his life Bismarck grew up on his family estate in Pomerania. A place in Northern Germany. He grew up with a Mother who didn’t love him and a father who was constantly working. He also had an older brother named Bernhard.(McGowen 63-64)

    At age seven Bismarck began school with his brother. He attended a school in Berlin. When he reached age seventeen he began his studies at the University of Gottingen in Hanover. A year later he went to the University of Berlin and began studying there. In the year 1836 Bismarck passed his examination to become a lawyer.(McGowen 64-65)

    In the year 1851 Bismarck is appointed a delegate. Frederick Wilhelm IV appointed him to represent Prussia. He represented them at German Confederation Parliament.(McGowen 67)

  • Bismarck becomes the Prime Minister of Prussia

    Bismarck began getting qualifications for this position when he was appointed a delegate to the German Confederation Parliament. In the year 1859 he was made ambassador of Russia, and in 1862 he was made ambassador of France, and later that year he became the Prime Minister of Prussia. His jobs leading up to this helped him because he had previously work experience with the government.(McGowen 68)
  • Austro-Prussian War

  • Bismarck Wins the Franco-Prussian War

    Bismarck was able to provoke France into starting the war. He published the Ems Dispatch, this made Napoleon declare war. Prussia easily defeats the French army at Sedan. The defeat them so easily they are able to capture Napoleon.(Otto Von Bismarck, galegroup.com)
  • Bismarck is made the Chancellor of New Germany

  • Otto Von Bismarck Dies

    In the year 1890 Bismarck resigned because of disagreements with Willhelm II. He lived the remaining 8 years of life on an estate near Hamburg. In his last year of life he was confined to a wheelchair. He died at the age of eighty-three. (bbc.co.uk)
