    Elie lived his early years in Sighet a same town in Transylvania, His father was a cultured man, who rarely displayed his feelings, not even in front of his family.Though he was involved with the welfare of others private matters in their community. Both of his parents ran a store, with his three siblbings Hilda, Bea, and Tzipora.

    The Jews are then forced to get numbers tatooed into their arms inorder to idenify them eaiser. Afterwards they are sent on a four hour walk from Auschwitz to Buna. Once they arive at Buna they are all put under a medical inspeoction luckly Elie and his father pass.

    In spring of 1944, fascism takes over the hungarian police. Though the Jews' are anti-Semitism, the Nazis' would limit the Jewish capital city. Series of oppresive matters were happening to the Jewish community, many of their leaders were being arrested, and their valuable were being stolen. They were eventuall;y confined into crowed and narrow streets, fenced all around with bard wire.

    After staying for a while the Nazis inprison the Jews. Against their will the Jews do as they are told. They all pack their things and pile into a very small cart. With bearly any room to breathe, and hardly any food, they Jews struggle to stay alive.

    After the agonizing train ride the Jews are finally at the camps. Once they get out of the train they must separte. Girls on the right, boys on the left, leaving Elie and his father separated form his mother and three sisters. Later Elie finds outs that his mother and three sisters were sent to their death stright after he last saw them.

    After days of travel, the jews finally arrive at the camp of Czechoslovakin. Where they all simply realize that they are being relocated. A officer takes control of all carts, and declares that he will shoot anyone who dares to not yield to him, or try to escape. When he nailed to door shut, Madame Schatcher, a middle age woman, starts to scream that she see's a fire in the darkness of the cart.

    Elie and his father are both able to stay together as they reach the camp. They both must lie about their ages, Elie telling the men that his is eighteen, when he isn't even fifteen, and his father who was fifty must say that he is forty. All of the prisoners must then take off their clothes, and change into ragid disgusting clothing, that the prisonment provided. Though they did not want to have to giveup their nice warm clothing.

    Elie is able to make friends throughout the travelings to the different csmpd. When arriving in Bunda, Elie is summoned by the dentist, where he is told that they need to talk out his gold tooth. He was able to postpone having this being done. When a fellow man learns about Elies golden tooth, he starts to yell at Elie for it. Making Elies father stand up for his son, provoking Idek to bet up the father.

    It is the time of year for the Jews to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, which is a holiday to celebrate the new year. During the celebration Elie begins to question his faith and begins to believe that man is stronger than god. a few days later Elie is separted from his dad because his father did not pass the first section. After a long stressful day at work, Elie is glad to hear his father passed the seocnd section. Soon the winter comes and Elie is put into operation becuase his foot is hurt.
  • The roomer

    While Elie is in the hospital he hears roomers about the Russians coming. The next day everyone is evacuated Eile chooses to go with. Later he finds out that he made the wrong dissison because those who stayed were freeed.
  • The Blizzard

    The Blizzard
    Darkness of the blizzard, the prisoners from Buna are evacuated. If anyone of them stops running they would be shot dead, or trampled by the hundreds of men behind them. Zalmen, the boy runnning next to Elie, tells him that he can no longer run, he then stops and is then trampled. After running all throughout the night the prisoners find a deserted village where they about able to eat some sleep in the snow. When they arrive at the new camp, they are then put into roofless cartd.

    Once they arrived Elie and his father were thrown to the ground, gasping for air. He finds that he is being crushed under the tons of men lying on top of him, once finding some breathing space he calls out to hear how far his father was. The prisoners who were dead were thrown into cattle carts, as his father was mistaken for the dead. Though Eli was able to awaken his father in time. They traveled for days fighting for bread thats thrown in the carts.
  • Giving up

    When Elie's father denies to go any further he sleeps in the snow over night. Elie is worried about him at first but then wonders what it would be like if his father were to die. Eile then finds his father and feels ashamed that he even thought about life without his father as being better. Elie's father begins to become sick and is declined from the doctor becuase they believe it would be a waste of time.
  • Death

    Death
    Elie's father soon gets worse and is sent to the crematory. Elie does not cry, but feels relif. Later the camps are evacuated because the Russians have come. Elie returns to life but is left empty inside.
