    In these pages, you read about a kid named Elie who was sent to a concentration camp with the rest of his family when he was very young. He gets seperated from his sister and mother and neer sees them again but he stays with his father throughout all the hard work they go through and all the different camps they get sent to.

    Elie gets an infection in his foot and has to have surgery that requires a 2-week recovery time but before the 2-weeks are up, Elie and his dad go through a horrible trnafer of camps as the camp they were in runs from the American government. His father end up getting horribly sick when they get to another camp and he eventually dies. At the end of the book, his father is thrown into the cremtorium and the American government finally catches up with them and saves all the inmates.
