My Personal History

  • My Birth.

    I was born in Colombo Hospital at 10.34 p.m.

  • I was baptised.

    I was baptised at St Mary's Church Maharagama.

  • Going to Montessori.

    In Sri Lanka Montessori is a pre-primary school that children go to, to learn basic skills such as reading and talking. I went to Montessori at the age of 3.

  • My first school.

    My first school was St Joseph's College. I started going there at the age of 5. I completed Year 1 there. I soon settled in and made friends.

  • Move to Australia.

    I moved to australia and entered All Saint's Primary School and completed Years 2 and 3.

  • Back to Sri Lanka.

    I was really sad to leave Australia and all my friends. In Sri Lanka I re-entered St Joseph's College and completed Year 4.

  • First Holy Communion.

    I received first holy communion at St Joseph's College, Colombo.

  • Move to New Zealand.

    I was very happy to move to New Zealand. According to my parents it was even better than Australia, and it was! In New Zealand I entered St Mark's Catholic School and completed Years 5 and 6.

  • Graduating from primary.

    I graduated from primary with mixed feelings, happiness because I had won many prizes and sadness because I lost my friends for the 6th time.
