    Mommy and Baby

I was born in Washington, DC. I lived in Maryland until 1994 when I moved to Florida. My mom and sister still live there.

I've always loved science even in the 80s when we had big hair!

I married my husband Duane in 1999, and we had two sons, Taran (oldest) and Tanner (youngest.)
  • Book Club Girls

    Book Club Girls

This is my squad. We've been together for over 10 years. Our children grew up together, we read and drink wine together every month, we travel together. These are the people I turn to when I need anything - from a shoulder to cry on to someone to celebrate with.
  • Three Musketeers

    Three Musketeers

These are my two best friends in the world, Missy and Terri (gray hair.) We have been together since 2nd grade. We went to elementary, middle, and high school together. Missy (dark hair) and I roomed together in college. I am who I am because of these girls. All my childhood to early adult memories include them.
  • Taran Graduation

    Taran Graduation

Taran graduated FAU High School in 2017 with enough dual enrollment credits to start college as a senior. He graduated college in 2018 with a degree in Computer Science. He currently works in IT and just bought a house - all at 21-years old!
  • Tanner Goes to FSU

    Tanner Goes to FSU

After graduating in 2019, Tanner started FSU that summer. He's currently majoring in mathematics and economics but he really wants to make movies.

    Kirsten Goes to College, Too

After 25 years of teaching science (22 in middle school and 3 in high school,) I decided to reinvent myself. I'd always been interested in radiology, but at 50, I thought I was too old to start med school. Becoming a Nuc Med Tech seemed like the next best thing. I still hope to get that doctorate degree, too. After I start working as a tech, I will pursue a PhD, but I'm not sure yet what I will study.
