I was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico.

I started in first grade in SU Marcos Sanchez, elementary and intermediate school. I studied in the same school up to 9th grade. The only contact with the second language was the class the teachers gave me in English.

I started 10th grade at the age of 15 in Teodoro Aguilar Mora Vocational School. Again, all the classes were in Spanish exept for English.

I moved with my sister in Maunabo and studied 11th grade and half of 12th grade in Alfonso Casta Martinez High School. All the classes were in Spanish exept for the English one.

I moved to Holyoke, MA with my parents and finish my 12th grade there, were I graduated from Holyoke High School. This time it was a bilibgual school and it was a little ruff on me because my English language was very poor.

After high school and married, I needed to work and that is when I was more exposed to the L2. My husband was very fluent in the English language, because he was born and raced in the US. This help me be exposed to the L2 and little by little I acquired it.

After my kids were big I decided to go back to study and earn a career. I started in busness administration and earned 32 credits but change my mind and went to study something else.

I decided to become an English teacher and enrolled in the UPRH to earn my degree. I already Knew the language very well and always wanted to be a teacher.

Accomplished my goal of being a teacher and earned my BA in English Elementary, but had to wait until June to graduate.

I started to work in Catalina Morales Elementary School as an English teacher. I covered for a teacher that was sick and gave Engish to students from K-3 grade.

I am currently a first grade teacher and I teach Englih, Science, Math in English and Social Studies in Spanish in Andrea Lebron Ramos Bilingual School.
