I am the youngest of four, born to an engineer and a high school math and physics teacher.

I loved school right from Grade 1! So much so that I played "school" after school, weekends, and most of the summer.

I graduated from Ross Sheppard Composite High School in Edmonton.

After a year of working at a TV station in the Publicity and Promotions department, I began my post-secondary studies at the University of Alberta in a pre-professional year for Speech Pathology and Audiology.

I married a thoughtful, intelligent man who continually helps me learn and grow.

I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts with distinction, and a double major in Linguistics and Psychology.

We began an adventure of several years working with youth and children as directors of a youth ranch, about 2 hours north of Edmonton.

Our first son was born, and thus began the greatest teaching moments of my life.

Our second son came into our lives, and training in collaborative studies began.

Son number three. This crazy mix was a teaching/learning challenge. Only two hands and three wiggly boys.

I began to formally teach my children at home. This would prove to be a constant source of joy and delight for the next 20 years, as well as one of the most challenging and rewarding teaching opportunities I've had.

Our youngest son joined the pack, and became a learning tool/toy for his older brothers.

We went back into camp work. This involved staff training and teaching horseback riding and canoeing to teens and children.

I completed Level 4 of sign language training, and began teaching classes to educational assistants in Grande Prairie, Edmonton, and Red Deer.

My youngest son graduated high school at home, which launched me out of "homeschool mom" into my next adventure.

I began my studies in the U of A Bachelor of Education/RDC Middle Years Program.

After two intense but highly rewarding years, I graduate with a Bachelor of Education.
