Dalphine Perry hired me for my first position at Vinson Bynum. I taught 5th grade and loved the groups I taught. I got married that year and several of my students attended.

I transferred to this school in 1995. I loved the mixture of neighborhoods represented in this school and the diversity it presented.

The district switched to neighborhood schools and Elvie closed. I was transferred to Barnes.

I made the leap to the middle school to be able to teach math all day. Loved this school and stayed there for 10 years.
