    The Wuchang Uprising led to the Xinhai Revolution in 1911. It is said the uprising was not intentionally started. Apparently a list of people that were apart of the New Army of Wuchang was leaked out and some were getiing arrested and from there it turned violent. Wuchang Uprising

    The Northern Expedition was led by Kuomintang. Chinese Nationalist were allies with communists and they overthrew the Beijing government and started a new one.     Mukden IncidentWith the Mukden Incident, the Japanese staged a bombing in Manchuria and then blamed the bombing on the Chinese. They did this so they would be able to take over Manchuria. Later on Japan's secret was exposed and then became isolated as a result.

    Long MarchIn the Long March, the Commuinist from an attack by the Guomindang. The Communist made multiple attempts at trying to defend themselves but failed miserably under the instruction of Braun. Later on Braun was suspended and Mao was put in charge. Mao got 10,000 of 87,000 of his soldiers past the Guomindang.

    2nd Sino-Japanese WarIn this point in time, the Japanese had already taken three provinces that had belonged to China. There was already built up anger from the Chinese, and after the third takeover, they were not having it anymore and wanted to fight back and protect what land they had left.

    Nanking MassacreThe Nanking Massacre involved the Japanese and the Chinese Nationalist. Aound this time, the Japanese were going around taking over various countries. When they arrived at Nanking, it was terrible, thousands of innocent people were killed, raped, or severly injured.

    Tiananmen Square protestsThe Tiananmen Square protests are known for having millions of supporters protest. these protestys put the Chinese government in akward positions especially when they would have important officials from other countries visiting and see that they were not keeping their people under control. The reactions from the government, especially near the end, were violent and many protesters were killed.

    Building of the Three Gorges damThe Three Gorges Dam is located in Three Gorges, China. The dam was completed in 2009. The Cost for building it was between 17- 100 billion dollars. Its purpse is to help with flooding, hydroelectiric power, irrigation, and navigtion.

The was that after 99 years, Hong Kong would get their land back which was very important for them in relation to helping their economy.

    After 442 years of being under the rule of Potugal, Macau was finally returned to China, just as Hong Kong had been. This change was willing accepted by Macau given that they were treated poorly while under Portuguese rule.

    In this event, a United States aircraft and People's Republic of China fighter jet collided. A PRC pilot was killed and the US Pilot and crew had to make an emergency land in Hainan. Once they landed the Chinese took them and questioned them. The incident was handled carefully to prevent a giant conflict between these two countries.
