French soldiers from Louisiana seize a Spanish mission near present day Macodoches. The size of the army is exaggerated, and later that year Spanish families flee from East Texas to San Antonio. The Spanish form a force fo meet the French threat. The leader is Aguayo.

Aguayo takes 500 soldiers/settlers and animals and moves a presidion from the Neches River to the Angelina River. He builds another presidio, Nuestra Senora del Pilar de los Adaes. St. Denis, now a french commander, tells Aguayo they are in French territory but doesn't do anything about it.

Spain closes the presidio on the Angelina River, moves three of its missions in East Texas to San Antonio, and decreases the number of soldiers at other missions and presidios.

Spain builds three San Xavier missions along the San Gabriel River. They do not last long due to Native American discontent.
