    The first laptop design was a 16-bit Grid Compass 1101 in 1979 by Bill Moggridge. This design was the start of the portable laptops but it was pretty heavy weighing in at 20 pounds but as through the years progressed it started to get lighter. In the 1990's they at least got it under 10 pounds, also in the 90's they started developing hard drives for the laptop and the laptop started slowly become better for people in there job they could take there own laptop instead of a flash drive.
  • Game Consoles

    In the 80's is when consoles started to get recognized and the companies that made this happen was SEGA and Nintendo. Even though through the 80's and 90's they were battling to get the edge from each other this battle kept making consoles a lot more better than heading to the arcade. As we get to the 2000's Xbox and PlayStation made an appearance on stage taking over SEGA and Nintendo as first and second in consoles.
  • Social Media

    Social Media was an idea to have an easier quicker way to communicate with and long distant family members. Six Degrees was the type of social media that people recognized where you can create a profile and make blogs it was created in 1997. Than Myspace came along which took that idea and expanded it into having blogs but you can comment and become friends. But in 2005 YouTube was created and they made it where you can create videos to share worldwide so everyone knows what you are doing.

    IBM made the first smartphone which was called Simon Personal Communicator it only had an hour battery life and if you wanted to talk to people you either hooked it up into a phone jack or try to call them like how we call people today but it was a lot more expensive back then. They only had business apps compared to our smartphones now. The battery life can basically last all day better use of apps and a AI called SIRI this smartphone called the iPhone was created by Steve Jobs.

    Neil Papworth sent the first text message on December 3rd, 1992,via PC he was a former developer at Sema Group Telecoms. Than in 1977 the Nokia 9000i Communicator was the first phone that had a keyboard to send text messages. After this invention texting gradually started to get recognized over the years until people figured out it was a quicker way to let all my co-workers know what they need to do it was a quicker way to make appointments.
