    Jose Gutierrez de Lara
    He was a successful black smith. During the Mexcian war of dependance his brother and him were sent to go recuting along the Rio Grande. On March 17 1811 he left the United States to search for meterail.
  • Marquis de Rubis

    Marquis de Rubis
    He was captured in Mexico City and remained there untill 1766.On April 14th he joined at Durando by Nicolas de Lafora. He was an engineer and map maker. He also kept a diary. When Carlos the third dided in 1788 Rubi may have been accepted reteriment at about age 63.

    His plan was to come to Texas to capture wild horses and mustangs and market them in Louisanna. The spanish officals became sucpious and arrested him in 1800. After he was released from jail we was killed in fight by a spanish soilder.

    He graduated 3rd in his Mllitary Acadomy. Him, Peter Samuel and Jose Bernardo Maximilano de Lara were all planing an invation on Texas.
  • Father Miguel Hidalgo

    Father Miguel Hidalgo
    Father Miguel Hidalgo y c ostsilla is known as the Father of Mexican Independence because he led the first revolt against Spanish rule in Mexico. A preist ordered for Hidalgo to be arrested. He rang the church bell and called the Indians and Mestizos of the town to a mass where Hidalgo gave a speech known as, Grito de Dalores. This speech is where he called rebellion so Mexicans rather than Spaniards could goveren Mexico. This day is celebrated on Cinco de Mayo day.
  • Battle of Medina

    This battle was fought between the Rebellion forces and the Guterrez Magee expedition under Gen. 20 miles away the bloodest battle was being fought at the Alamo. This battle was short lived. The Texas Revolution was fought in 1835-1836. By 1922 niether the Medina battlefeild nor the burak sites had been acheologicalley confirmed.

    He was choosen as a Millitary leader of Texas and Galvestin. He declared part of Texas Republic. Lafitte had a small squad of 12-15 ships and 500 men. Lafitte had given them money to start a rival base between d'Adury. Meanwhile Texas was claimed under Mexico and Spain. Lafitte sailed under a Mexican Flag.
  • Dr. James Long

    Dr. James Long
    He led the expedition in 1817. They were trying to capture Texas. He was later inprisioned. Later as he was free he was shot in the head by a guard and was killed.

    This constitution was started up so that each state had its own constitution. The State Coambia and Texas was combined. The legislative part of the state had more then 2 months he spent farming of the constitution which was finally published.The catholic religon was guaranteed liberty, security, property, equailty, and slavery was forbiben. The constitution was published in spanish which resulted in few people being abke to read it.

    Mexico adpoted a similar system to the United States. The federal Congress passed the law in 1824. The law of Coahuila and Texas became the basic of all colonizations contracts. Congress agreed not to make major changes until 1840.

    This law was passed and they wanted all citzens and congess to agree on it. The national colonization Law of 1824 resulted from a Federalist political philosophy that advanced by some of the mexicos post independance slaves were not important and "black people" were free in texas.

    This began in1824. Congeres had made a firm document. The Catholic religion made the faith and church was supported by the public treasury. One president is selected for a four year term. Congress holds a meeting on Jan. 1st throught Arp. 15th. During that time they descuss important things.
