Rhianna's younger (and only) sibling, Alyssa Cohen, is born.

Rhianna comes home from a play date to see an electric keyboard in the living room. For the next two years, she would teach herself to play by ear.

From Kindergarten to Grade 6, Rhianna attended Margaret Park Elementary School.

Rhianna starts learning her first wind instrument: the flute, and proceeds to play it in Band for the next 3 years.

Rhianna attends H.C. Avery Middle School for Grades 7 and 8.

Rhianna attends two high schools: Garden City Collegiate, and the Seven Oaks Met School.

Rhianna moves to a new school that teaches all topics through project-based learning and student-selected internships around the city. -
As part of her physics/music/math/English credits, Rhianna writes proposals to companies around Winnipeg asking for the donation of materials to build a percussion instrument from PVC pipe. The construction takes 4 months.

Rhianna wins the Big Picture Learning Delfeayo Marsalis Music Scholarship. She is the 3rd recipient, and the first Canadian recipient. She submitted a video of herself playing the Rimbatubes.

Rhianna starts and completes her Bachelor of Music Education degree.
