Vladek meets Anja for the first time! This marks the start to their quickly growing so much.

Just two years later Anja and Vladek get married.

Vladek and Anja have their first child Richieu. A short time after this, Anja became depressed.

Vladek recieves a draft notice to be in the war against Germany.

The War has begun. Vladek is captured as a prisoner of war for six weeks.

Vladek is released from is prisoner of war camp after lots of hard work and labor. He is able to go home and see his family. All jews are ordered to reloacte to the Stara Sosnowiec quarter. Richieu is taken away and this is the last time Vladek sees him.

Anja and Vladek's parents are sent to Auschwitz and to the gas chambers.

Tosha poisons her children and Richieu to avoid going to the gas chambers.

Vladek arrives at Auschwitz

In the summer of 1944 Vladek is moved to Birkenau. Here he reunites with Anja.

The war finally ends. Vladek and his companions are sent to A US displaced persons camp.

Vladek travels back to Sosnowiece to reunite with Anja after being placed in a displaced persons camp.

Anja couldn't escape her traumatic memories of her past. She commits suicide without leaving a note behind.
