  • The Treaty of Greenville

    The Treaty of Greenville
    In Ohio, Greenville August 3, 1795 the Treaty of Greenville was signed. This was followed by the Battle of Fallen Timbers, which the Native Americans lost.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    The Louisiana Purchase was just land between the United States and France. In all of that the United States had about 827,000 square miles of land west of the Mississippi River which was worth $15 million.
  • The Steamboat is invented

    Steam powered boats where introduced in the late 1700s and early 1800s. The Steamboat was created to be faster transpiration than trains, cars, trucks and airplanes.
  • The Battle of Tippecanoe

    The Battle of Tippecanoe
    The two sides that where fighting was the Americans and the Native American warriors. The American forces was led by Governor William Henry Harrison and Native American warriors was led by their leader Tecumseh.

    The War of 1812 was a military conflict that lasted from June 1812 to February 1815. This war was fought buy the Americans and the British.
  • Indiana becomes a state

    Indiana becomes a state
    Indiana is located in the midwestern and Great Lakes regions of North America. Indiana became part of the United States as the 19th U.S. state on December 11, 1816.
  • The Missouri Compromise

    The Missouri Compromise was an effort by Congress to calm the fighting, arguing and political rivalries caused by the request of Missouri late in 1819 for admission as a state in which slavery would be allowed.At the time the United States had only twenty-two states so they evenly divided between slave and free slave states.
  • Adams-Onis Treaty

    The Adams-Onis Treaty is also known as the Florida Purchase Treaty,or the Florida Treaty. It was a treaty between the United States and Spain in 1819 that gave up Florida to the U.S. and made the boundary between the U.S. and New Spain
  • John Quincy Adams is elected President

    John Quincy Adams was elected as the 6th president on February 9, 1825. John Quincy Adams was apart as the federalist party.
  • The Erie Canal is finished

    The Erie canal was started in 1808 and wasn't finished till the endish of 1825. The Erie Canal is a canal in New York that is part of the east west, cross-state route of the New York State Canal System.
  • Andrew Jackson is elected President

    Andrew Jackson is the 7th elected president on December 2, 1828. He was the founder and apart of the Democratic party.
  • The Battle of the Alamo

    The Battle of the Alamo
    The Battle of the Alamo was an important event in the Texas Revolution. Coming right after a 13 day blockade, President General Antonio López de Santa Anna the leader of the Mexican troops launched an attack on the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar Texas, United States, killing all of the Texian defenders.
  • The National Road is Completed

    The National Road is Completed
    The National Road had begun being built in 1811 and didnt get finished till the mid of 1837. The 620 mile road connects the Potomac and Ohio Rivers and was a main transport path to the West for thousands of settlers.
  • The Trail of Tears

    The Trail of Tears
    Andrew Jackson created an Indian removal policy, so that made the Cherokee nation was forced to give up their lands east of the Mississippi River and to move to an area in present-day Oklahoma. How it got its name "Trail of Tears" is because the Cherokee tribe named it off of the sad things that happened during it
  • Texas is annexed by the United States

    The Republic of Texas declared independence from the Republic of Mexico on March 2, 1836. At the time the vast majority of the Texian population favored the annexation of the Republic by the United States.
  • The California Gold Rush

    The California Gold Rush began on January 24, 1848, gold was found by James W. Marshall at the Sutter's Mill in Coloma, California. The first to hear confirmed information of the gold rush were the people in Oregon and Latin America, and they were the first to start flocking to the state in late 1848.
  • The Compromise of 1850

    The Compromise of 1850
    The Compromise of 1850 was a collection of five separate bills passed by the United States Congress in September 1850. The bills were a four-year political confrontation between slave and free states regarding the status of territories acquired during the Mexican American War.
  • California becomes part of the United States

    The area became a part of Mexico in 1821 following its successful war for independence, but was given up to the United States in 1848 after the Mexican American War. California was the 31st state to join the United states.
  • The Kansas/Nebraska Act

    The Kansas/Nebraska Act allowed people in the territories of Kansas and Nebraska to decide for themselves whether or not to allow slavery within their borders. The Act served to reverse the Missouri Compromise of 1820 which banned slavery
  • The Dred Scott Decision

    Sandford, legal case in which the U.S. Supreme Court on March 6, 1857, ruled that a slave, Dred Scott, who had resided in a free state and territory, where slavery was banned, was not entitled to his freedom.That put out the impression African Americans were not and could never be citizens of the United States.
