A Serbian nationalist, Gavrilo Princip, was mad at Austria-hungary and killed Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife. This started a war between Austria-Hungary and Serbia. Germany had a alliance with Austria and they had to protect them.

Germany makes the first move and they defeat France fast then invade through Belgium to avoid the France/Britain border. The French then launched counter assaults after 5 days and it pushed the Germany’s back 40 miles. This gave Russia more time to think and move.

The British blockade prevented America from getting any of there supply from Germany. This made them very mad and and they created a “ WAR ZONE”. They attacked any ships that entered and this made America even more mad.
