    Please note that these events took place in the first century so the first event would be 64 not 1964, unfortunatly, this timeline doesn't allow me to create events that far back. So please ignore the 19 in front of each of the years
  • The Great Fire of Rome

    The Great Fire of Rome
    The Great Fire of Rome started on the 18th of July in 64 AD. It took 6 days to bring the fire under control. No one knows the real cause of the fire, but many people blame it on Emperor Nero for causing the fire. Of the 14 Roman districts, only 4 completely escaped damage, while the rest were badly damaged.

    In Caesarea, the then capital of Judea, Greeks started to sacrifice birds in front a synogogue, and when the Roman garrison didn't intervene, the Greeks and Jews clashed violently.

  • Massacre of 3000 Jews

    After the fighting broke out around the country because of the take over of the Judeian capital by the Romans, troops were sent to raid and arrest citizens in Jerusalem resulting in the deaths of over 3000 Jews
  • Take Over of Roman Military Garrisons

    Shortly after the massacre, the Roman military garrisons in Jerusalem were taken over by rebels. This caused lots of rejoicing as all of the Romans were driven out of the city.
  • Seige of Jerusalem

    In answer to Jerusalem's rebellion, The Roman Empire sent a force of over 30,000 soliders. After marching through and decimating 2 towns they arrived at Jerusalem and lay siege to it.
  • Unexpected Defeat

    When the Roman's victory seems assured, its general Gallus woke up on the morning of the attack, and ordered a full retreat. He refused to answer why, and to this day no one is quite sure why he ordered a retreat. However after ordering the retreat the Jewish rebels were quick to follow and trapped and defeated over 6,000 soldiers in the Battle of Beth Horon, causing one of the worst defeats in the Roman Empire's history.
  • Vespasian's Campaign

    Emperor Nero ordered general Vespasian to take over the campaign. He landed at Ptolemais and began his campaign.
  • Seige of Yodfat

    The siege lasted for 47 days and at the end of it, when the city was taken, over 40,000 Jews died to the Romans.
  • Siege of Gamla

    The Romans attacked the city, only to be warded off the first time. 5 days later the Romans attacked again and this time suceeded in invading the city, killing over 5,000 Jews.
  • Destruction of the Galilee Providence

    After all of the small skirmishes and fights in crushing all resistence in the north of Judea. it is estimated that by the end the Jewish death toll was up to 100,000.
