  • Machine Gun

    The first machine gun was invented in 1718 in England by James Puckle. This gun was a single barrel flintlock gun with multiple revolving chambers. You had to handcrank it for it to work. Though this gun failed commercially, it lead the way for many new machine guns in the futire. The machine guns intention was to fire more powerful rounds with easy and so it can shoot things quicker. The gun was origanally made for "defence".
  • Sewing Machine

    The first possible patent connected to mechanical sewing was a 1755 British patent issued to German, Charles Weisenthal. Though the day and month are unsure this was the first closes patent to the sewing machine. It was a machine that used needles to sew clothing togeter with ease. This was very important because now you could quickly sew clothing. This could quadrouple the amount of clothing you made a day.
  • Submarine

    The day and month are unsure but Robert Fulton invented the first actual working submarines while living in France. This invention was a success and not a success at the same time. This was a success because it dove 25 feet erwater and lead the way to many future inventions. This was also a fail because it was looked at as a suicide machine and Robert Fulton soon gave up on it. Robert Fulton's invention lead the way for many new submarines in the future.
  • Cotton Gin

    Eli Whiney patented and gained the credit for inventing the cotton gin in March 14, 1794. The cotton gin was invented by Whitney Houston in the south to revolutionize the cotton industry. Prior to his invention, farming cotton required hundreds of man-hours to separate the cottonseed from the raw cotton fibers. Eli's invention automated the seed seperation process. This is very important because now you could make much more profitable cotton cheaper, quicker, and easier.
  • Typewriter

    There were many many versions of the type writer before Christopher Latham Sholes patented it in 1868 in America, but his typewriter was the first true one. It was used so you can quickly tpe or write things up without needing to manually do so. This invention was important because people could publish there work quicker. Publishing there work quicker lead to rapid news spreading.
