  • Remember the USS Maine

    Remember the USS Maine
    The USS Maine was a Battle Ship was sent to Havana Harbor. Its mission was to protect the US Citizens and economic interests in Cuba. On Febuary 15th, 1898 the Maine Exploded and killed 266 men onboard. Nobody knew the reason the Maine exploded but the cause was automatically poited at Spain.
  • The Battle of Manila

    The Battle of Manila
    On May 1st, 1898 the Spaniards had helped America capture Manila.
  • The Battle of San Juan Hill

    The Battle of San Juan Hill
    The US attacked San Juan hill and eventually captured it. The African American 9th and 10th cavalries captured Kettle Hill nearby.

    Spain gave up the Philipines for $20,000,000 in return.

    The Platt Amendment was approved in 1903 which limited Cuba from making treaties and also prevented the U.S. from helping the Cubans fight wars.
