Birth date
My child hood was hard. My parents were very strict. My mom died when I was just seven years old. Without my mom around, my dad was even harder on me. Then, my friends left when I was 16 years old to look for oil. My dad died on April 24, 1860. Now I am headed to America to help my friends look for oil. -
Arrived at Ellis Island
I arrived at Ellis Island this morning, and I am so tired, and hungry. I came to America for work. My family was poor so when they died I was left with next to nothing. I am here to look for oil. My friends from Germany have been here for two years looking for oil. I came because my family recently died, and they wanted me to come to the free land and help their search for oil. My first day on the job is next Monday. -
First time striking oil
We finally found oil! We have been searching for two years, and finally we struck oil. In the past two years I'm surprised, but there has not been any racism. I have finally realized the dangers in oil rigging. I heard about an oil rig that blew up a couple of months ago. All of the oil riggers involved were killed. I am so glad I decided to come to America, I have great living conditions. -
Dislocated shoulder
Today was a bad day for me. I dislocated my shoulder today. I was playing futbol, I ran to get the ball, but got pushed over and the impact on the ground dislocated my right shoulder. The doctor says I will be out of work for a couple weeks. I'm becoming richer than most Americans are. So far we have struck oil 17 times! I can't wait to get back to work so I can make some more money. -
Become second most succesful oil riggers in America
We have gotten so good at oil rigging. Now we know where there is likely to be oil and where there isn't likely to be any oil. So far we have struck oil 63 times. I have been back from my injury for about 19 and a half years. My friends and I are some of the richest people in America. We are the second most successful oil riggers in America right now. I hope it stays that way! -
Retirement and 60th birthday
Today is my 60th birthday! My friends have organized a great party for me. Today at my party I am going to announce my retirement. I have been working for almost forty years, and I have plenty of money to retire with. I am happy to retire as part of the best oil rigging companies in Texas. Now in retirement I'm going to travel around to different states. I might even go back to Munich for a little while.
