  • Birth date

    I was born in China as the oldest and grew up In a family of 8.I helped my family by getting a job when I was just a kid. I got married at 18 and my wife had 4 children. life was getting hard. we started having a lac of food, and bills didn't get paid. so I moved to America when I was 24 because I couldn't find a job in china.
  • Angel Island

    Arrived at Angel Island medically checked, passed. I was medically examined along with other people to make sure that I wasn’t bringing in any diseases to the United States. It was hard to understand what the people were saying because I didn't understand English and they didn't understand Chinese. I started to get very frustrated.
  • Moving East

    Found an open job on the rail road for $3 a week and worked or a few months. I got fired because they hired "fresh workers" and kicked me out. Moved east to New York in search of a job. I arrived by the newly constructed train.
  • Statue of Liberty

    United States as the statue of liberty construction started. I was still in New York and the statue of liberty that represented freedom peace and liberty was built. People were kinder to the immigrants that were coming in. I got a job working on the statue of liberty to because it was paying $5 a week.
  • Titanic

    The titanic sank. It was said to be the ship that never sinks. But that all changed when the titanic got submerged under the ocean in 1912 everyone was at panic. I Finished working on the statue of liberty and started working as a steel worker when my friend read about it in the news. I was going to have my family come back on the ship but that changed when an Italian that I worked with lost his entire family on board.
  • Returning home

    Moving back to China after a life's working in the United States of America 1/1/1915. it’s a new year and I have decided that I was going home forever. I haven’t seen my family in almost 40 years and finally I am going back to seem and be with them for the rest of my life.
