  • Rise of the Kingdom of Sumer

    Sumer was an ancient region and civilization located in southern Iraq (Mesopotamia). Some geographic features that are in Sumer are the river valley and the fertile soil. Their government was based off of a monarchy, the believed the king established rule through divine rights.
  • The Epic of Gilgamesh

    Gilgamesh was the king of Mesopaatamia. He was very mean. He had met a friend named Enkidu. They went on many great adventures together. But soon after Enkidu died. So Gilgamesh wen on a journey to find a way to get emortality. But instead he had to get the flower of youth. But after he had got it a snake ate it. And he had died.

    He was 75 and married to Sarai. He lived in Haran Canaan. He made a long journey from there to Shechem Canaan.
  • Hammurabi's Code

    Hammurabi was supposed to lead the city of Ur. His code was very injust I believe. He made laws about adultry, robbery, and many other things. One important law was if you rob a house and you are caught, you will be hung in the hole that you had made. Very violent.
  • Joseph goes th Egypt and the Israelites

    When Pharaoh came to power all of Josephs people were put to more work. And also used as slaves. Pharaoh would not let his people go. (Think of the movie Prince of Eygpt). He had tried to do many things to make Pharaoh re consider. Then when Pharaoh's son was killled he had let them go.
  • Moses, the Exodus from Egypt, and the Ten Commandments

    Moses was an adopted son of the Pharaoh's sister. He lived in the palacce and found out who he was. (Prince of Egypt beginning of movie). The Ten Commandments are important becasue it helps to shapethe moral laws of many nations. The Exodus is important because it is the memory of the day that the Jews were brought out of slavery in Egypt.

    Deborah was one of the judges. She was very willing to give good info as a Judge. Happend approximatley in the middle of the 13th century, to the middle of the 11th century BCE
  • The Reign of David

    David became king when Saul died. He took on Goliath in a battle of gods. One obsticle that he faced was proving to Goliath that his god was real. Also becoming unpopular and going into hiding. This happened in about 1013-973 BCE.

    Gave himself to God. It happened about 875-853 BCE
  • Siege of Lachish

    It acctually happend in 701 BCE.

    *King Zedekian refusal to Jeremiahs idea of surrendering to Nebuchadnezer
    *Many leading figures of Judah were called to Babylon after Nebuchadnezer took over
  • Indus Valley Civilization

    They surived by making crops and raising animals because they were by the river. So they had water and that was all they needed for everything else. There was also a big tank in the Mohenjo-Daro. The actual event was in 2000BCE
