Hitler was sent to Landsburg Jail after Hitler and the Nazi Party attemted to overthrow the government, He was sentenced for five years, but was realeased after only a year.

Hitler Re-Founds the Nazi Party

After getting out of jail, Hitler re-founds the Nazi party during the year of 1925.

Mein Kampf

Hitler's book Mein Kampf was published. Mein Kampf means 'My Struggle' He wrote this book while in prision.

Nazi Party Grows

In 1925, the Nazi Party had about 27,000 members. In 1929 the party grows to 108,000.

Nazi's Gain Power

The Nazis gradually devised an electoral strategy to win northern farmers and white collar voters in small towns, which produced a landslide electoral victory in September 1930 (jump from roughly 3% to 18% of the votes cast) due to the depression. White Collar Workers are people who don't do labor work, or work behind a desk.

Hitler For President

Hitler decides to run for President of Germany, agaisnt Paul von Hindenburg.

Hitler Loses Election

Mar 13, 1932

Adolf Hitler loses the Presidential Election to Hindenburg. Hitler only got 30% of the votes, Hindenburg got 49%. Hindenburg failed to get the majority of votes that he needed, so a run-off election was neccessary. This occured on April 10

Hitler Becomes Chancellor

President Paul von Hindenburg names Adolf Hitler Chancellor of Germany. Becoming Chancellor means you are now leader of whatever party is in charge. (For Hitler, this would mean the Nazi Party)

Hitler Becomes President

Aug 19, 1934

Hitler, already Chancellor, is now elected to be the President of Germany. German President Paul von Hindenburg, was old, and on his deathbed. Hitler made Hindenburg sign a bill saying once the President dies, the Chancellor then becomes President.
