It took place in Petrograd (the capital). People protested about the lack of bread due to racioning and people started joining. The army acted, although some soldiers didnt want to, to put some order and several people were killed or hurt.

The Petrograd Soviet appeared and was formed by sodiers and workers who were against the Tsar, and those persons elected people in order to represent their themands.

Provisional Government was unpopular because: they wanted to stay in war, they failed to give land to the peasants. Instead the Bolshevikes(Lennin was the leader) became the communist party of the Soviet Union, because Lenin had a simple slogan: Peace, Bread
and Land. Also he stated: All power to the soviets. -
The Bolshevikes lead by Lennin launched a coup against the Provisional Gobernment. They arrested the Provisional Government by storming the palace and they put themselves in chargeof Russia

The Bolshevik gobernment exit the war by signing a peace treaty with Germany called the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk. In 1918 a war took place by those who were agains the Bolshevik government. The whitearmy against the Red Army (the Bolsheviks themselves).
