  • Irving Independent School District v Henri Tatro

In the case of Irving Independent School District v Henri Tatro, 8 year old Amber Tatro was not properly cared for while at school. This case involved the changing of Amber's catheter while at school. Amber's parents believed that this fell under the Education of the Handicapped Act. Amber's parents told the court that under the Education of the Handicapped Act that (CIC) Clean Intermittent Catheterization was a "related service" because it did not require medical staff to complete.
  • Cedar Rapids Community School v Garret F.

In the case of Cedar Rapids Community School v Garret F., the parents of Garret F. argue that the IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Act) should allow him to attend school in Special Education. The school argues that it does not cover being ventilator-dependent. Rains, R. E. (1999) states, "under the statute, our precedent, and the purposes of the IDEA, the District must fund "related services" in order to help guarantee students like Garret are integrated to public schools". p121.
  • Endrew F. v. Douglas County School District

In the case of Endrew F. v Douglas County School District it was argued that Endrew was due reimbursement in the amount of $70,000 while attending the school under the IDEA because since withdrawing him and putting him in private school he has grown. The school argued that they completed the IEP and were giving him the services that had been requested which put them in compliance with the laws. Yell, M. L., & Bateman, D. F. (2017) His parents did not win this case but haven't given up
