    Born healthy in Tuscumbia, Alabama to Arthur H. and Kate Adams Keller.

    Helen got a high fever (possibly Scarlet Fever or Meningitis) which left her blind and deaf.

    Helen's behavior had gotten out of control. The Keller's spoke to Alexander Graham Bell, who recommended a special teacher.
