    Head Trauma: One time when Harriet was hired out to a master Harriet found a runaway slave from another plantation when she was sent to the Dry goods store. Harriet’s overseer told her to hold the slave down but she refused. When the slave ran the overseer threw a two-pound weight at the runaway, but the weight hit Harriet instead. Harriet was bleeding from her head badly and for two days she received no medical help, she was sent back to work.

During the marriage Harriet changed her name to Harried instead of Araminta.
