    SMART GOAL: S: I am going to pay off my college tuition by 2021.
    M: I will raise/save a total of at least $40,000
    A: I plan on saving this $40,000 in order to pay off my tuition by continuously working and saving $400.00 from each paycheck before spending that money on any other expenses.
    R: The opportunity cost of saving to pay off my tuition is higher than spending that $400 every month on other items.

  • Save Money - Freshman

    Save Money - Freshman
    This is your Freshman year in college. You should already have money saved up from scholarships to help you buy books. You will get a job on campus that pays $8.00 an hour, the summer before school starts. You will begin to work four 8 hour shifts a week. This will give you $512 every other week. You will begin to save $400.00 of this on each paycheck.
  • Save Money - Sophomore Year

    Save Money - Sophomore Year
    This is the year that you will be a Sophomore in college working on your Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy. You should have around $10,000 saved up from continuously working and saving up your money by saving $400 of your paycheck each time. You should techinically have $10,400 saved up.
  • Save Money - Junior Year

    Save Money - Junior Year
    This is the year you'll be a Junior in college working on your Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy. By this year you should have saved up around $20,000 from continuously working and saving your money by saving $400.00 of each paycheck. Techinically speaking, you should have a total of $20,800 saved. You will keep this well paying job! Continue walking and biking to classes to save money for gas.
  • Save Money - Senior Year

    Save Money - Senior Year
    This is your Senior Year at Charleston Southern University working on your Bachelors Degree of Music Therapy. Work hard, save money. You should be at or around $30,000. You will still be working at the same job you had your Freshman year because you will get a 15 cent raise this year. Technically speaking you should have $31,000 saved from your continuous paychecks. Keep walking/biking to classes to save your money for roadtrips back home for visits.
  • Save Money - Internship

    Save Money - Internship
    Work hard, save money. This is the year for you to find a 6 month internship near a hospital that is short driving distance or in biking/walking distance to save money. You will now work five 8 hour shifts a week and small jobs for other people. You should technically have $40,400 (from work) with an extra $400 from small odd jobs you've done for others; totaling up to $10,800.
  • Save More Money

    Work hard, save money. Now you have completed your 6 month internship and you have earned your Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy. You will have a Job in the nearest Hospital as a Music Therapist. You will be making your starting pay of $40,000 a year. Of this money, you will save the extra money you needed to pay off college. Use it to pick up any expences you've been struggling with and get your life rolling.
  • Pay Off College Tuition (Hopefully)

    This is the year you should have your $40,000 saved up to pay off your 4 years of college tuition. Have fun at work!!!!
