This is a great ending to the end of all the festivities of the season.

On this day, we should really take account all the hard work and perseverance that Martin did in order to change the world and its views.

This important event happens at noon in Washington, DC. There a huge parade along Pennsylvania Avenue in order to welcome the president and vice-president. The parade is also lined with thousands and thousands of people who want to be apart of welcoming the new president into the white house.

Fun fact, George Washington didnt even want to become president. Everyone just wanted him to be it and so he did. This is a paid day off work and students do not have any school so we can celebrate it. George Washingtons real birthday is on Feburary 11 although we celebrate it on the third Monday of Febuary.

We celebrate it by having parades throughout the United States to remember and celebrate those who all served the country in order for regular people like us to be able to live the way that we do. We remeber those lives lost.

We also celebrate all the contributions that workers have made to the strength and the law of this country. This is also a day where kids do not have school but some people might have to work. People usually celebrate by having parades and parties also ended with fireworks.

On Columbus Day we like to thank Christopher Columbus who sailed the ocean trying to reach India and actually landed on a land never explored. (Although there were millions of Native Americans who lived here and all he did was kill them off, infected them with diseases and literally did the worst things ever. But thats not something they teach you in elementary school)

On this day, we celebrate the signing of the armistice, which if you did not know, ended the World War 1 hostilities between the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. All Veterans are thanked on this day for all that they risked and lost serving our country. Making it safe for us to leave our house without worrying about different things. We thank everyone who served for our country.

    On Christmas, we religiously celebrate the birth of Jesus. Most of us take this time to be surrounded by our friends and family. We usually celebrate it by having a big feast on Christmas Eve and then on Christmas Day we have a big opening of gifts that we have received from our parents and from other relatives. Some people do not celebrate Christmas and celebrate Hannaukah in its place. Others celebrate on the 6th of January. Whatever you celebrate there is always going to be amazing food.
