    Day at Sea

    Day at Sea
It's a beautiful day in Portugal and our ship is about to leave the bording dock. Our first stop is Brazil. We should get there in about a month. We have many days of sailing, and I'm excited for for where this expedition will take us.

    The Brazil Port

    The Brazil Port
We have finally made it to Brazil! The land here is very rich and beautiful. We have found a village of native people and are trading with them. We traded some of our goods for sugar.

    Day at Sea
We are back at sea and heading toward the Cape of Good Hope. We have heard terrifying rumors about this sea in this area. Hopefully, we will all make it out of the Cape safely and off to our next destination without any trouble. We should arrive at the Cape of Good hope in a little less than a month.

    The Cape of Good Hope

    The Cape of Good Hope
We have arrived at the Cape of Good Hope. The name of it is very decieving. Before arriving here, we were hit by extremely violent storms, which almost destroyed one of our boats. We are stopping at the most southern tip of Africa.

    Day at Sea
We have made it out of the Cape of Good Hope. Now, we are heading to Mozambique, Africa. I am hopeful that the ocean will be less violent and we will have an easy trip to Mozambique. We are also starting to run out of food. If we don't get resupplied soon, then we may start cutting our ration size.

    Mozambique

    Mozambique
We have finally arrived in Mozambique after barely surviving the harsh storms at the Cape of Good Hope. I couldn't be happier to be on land. There are many rugged cliffs near the ocean, which made it hard to find a place for the caravel. After finding a place for the boat, we explored some of the land, and eventually came across some of the native people. We traded for gold and other stones.

    Day at Sea
We are back on our journey and heading east to Sri Lanka. This will propbably be a little less than a two month journey. I am worried about some of the crew. Their gums are starting to swell and it's getting hard for them to eat. I hope they get well soon. We need as many hands as we can get to help out around the caravel.

    Day at Sea
We have left Sri Lanka and are headed back to Portugal. Before we sail all of the way home, we will stop at Cape Verde. This will probably take four months. A couple of the crew members have died from starvation. They couldn't eat because of their gums were so big.

    Cape Verde

    Cape Verde
We have finally arrived at Cape Verde. It has been four months since we left Sri Lanka. We went through the Cape of Good Hope on our way here and got caught in a huge storm. One of our ships was turned over and unfortunately was completely destroyed. Cape Verde has very beautiful beaches and a very mountainous terrain. I don't believe that we are trading with the people here, but we are exploring the island. We board the boats later today and will begin our journey home to portugal
