    The Great Northern War
    This war lasted from 1700 to 1721. Sweden and Russia were fighting for the area by the Baltic sea. At the end of the war, Russia won and had gained the Baltic sea area.
  • The Decembrist Revolt

    The Decembrist Revolt
    This revolt took place in Senate Square in Saint Petersburg. It was done by Russian army officers who lead about 3,000 soldiers in a protest against Nicholas I taking the throne.
  • Czar Alexander II Emancipates the Serfs

    Czar Alexander II Emancipates the Serfs
    Czar Alexander II first introduced the idea in 1856. He thought that this would be good because it would be easier to get rid of serfdom at the top than bottom. The idea was finalized in 1861.
  • Assassination of Alexander II

    Assassination of Alexander II
    Alexander II was on his way to a military roll call when a bomb was thrown under his bulletproof carriage. He got out of the carriage and another bomb was thrown. He later bleed to death at 3:30.
  • Czar Nicholas II abdicates the Russian throne

    Czar Nicholas II abdicates the Russian throne
    Striking workers were demanding for socialists reforms and Nicholas II was then forced to abdicate or step down from ruling. They later had a death sentance and Nicholas, his wife, and his children were gunned down on the night of July 16.
  • The Russ-Japenese War

    The Russ-Japenese War
    This war was known as "the first great war of the 20th century." The conflict between these two countries was about borders. In the end, the Japenese did win and the result was balance of power.
