    Russia, Poland, an Denmark were looking to take over Sweeden. Sweedens king, Charles XII, was only fifteen years old and Russia, Poland, and Denmark beleived he would be an easy target. Sweeden won most of the beginning of the war. Poland and denmark withdrew from the war. Russia attacked and lost the first time. In the end russia gained several mstaes and Sweeden gained Finland.

    The military officials did not think nicholas the first deserved the throne. so the planned a revolt. they also were part of the liberal movement in the east.

    The serfs were feed under Czar Alexander II. They received land butb not as much as they were promised. Some had to give their land back to their former masters in orrder to survive. in the end the emancipation was a bad deal.

    there was a group called the "Peoples Will".They were a group of people that caused terror.They made many attempts on his life. they even blew up the dining room in the winter palace. while riding in his sleigh in saint petersburg a bomber went out and blew him up. He killed himself and the Czar.

    In 1904 Japan attacked Port Arthur. The tried to make a treaty with Czar NIcholas II but he rejected it. Japan declared war on them And battles were held in the sea and on land. Russia was struggling to fight Japan. After a month of negotiation the made a peace treaty ending the war.

    After the war the Russian facories were cu down in pay. Father Georgii Gapon lea a strike to the Winter Palace. When the arrived they were fired upon. When Fatter Gapon got up e saw that more than a 100 people were dead. The revolution came after this

    The revolution started after the march. The goverment created the duma. A council that makes decision consisting of elected officials. They still had little power. He had soldiers go out and enforce laws in towns.

    A strike broke out after workers wanted a 50%raise to buy food. Czars Nicholas said no and a riot broke out. More people joined the riot and Nicholas still said no. HE ordered that it ended on the should be put down by March 10th. People got killed and the rioters became even more angry. The goverment stood in and for the first time in almost 300 years Russia did not have a Czar.

    Nicholas is forced to give up his throne. This ended the autocratic rule from 1917 till present. he abdicated because of economic collapse and military struggle plus many more reasons.
