    The Great Northern War was fought between Sweden's Charles XII and a group led by Peter the Great. Sweden lost all of it's power by the end of the war. Russia was the new power in the Baltic region after war. There were four peace treaites that kepy stability in the Baltic after.

    A group of military officials started a revolt against Czar Nicholas. The felt threatened by his veiws. The group was defeated by the Czar's forced. After this revolt Czar Nicholas put new regulations so this didn't happen again.

    He wanted to free the serfs because he thought it would be better to being to abolish serfdom froma bove rather than wait for a rising from below. There were payments that had to be made from the freed serfs for 49 years.

    He was assassinated in the streets of St. Petersburg. He was killed by a bomb. The bomb was thrown by a person that was in the "People's Will" group.

    This was the first great war of the 20th centery. This war grew out of rival. Russians wanted a warm water port on the Pacific Ocean.They wanted it for their navy and for the trade.

    Some of this revolutionwas directed against the government. Some of it was also undirected. The revolution included worker strikes, peasant unrest, and military mutinies. It led to limited constitutional monarchy.

    Czar Nicholas II was forced to abdicate the thrown. Russia then went from being one of the greatest powers in the world to economic and military collapse.

    There were many protesters that were unhappy with the czar. They were all walking twoard that palace to protest. They were all unarmed. The Czar took it as a threat and he lined many soldiers up, and they fired at all the protesters. Many died, and many were ingured.
