    Fought between Sweden's Charles XII and a coalition leader, Peter the Great. By the end of the war, Sweden had lost her supremacy
  • The Decembrist Revolt

    The Decembrist Revolt
    Nicholas's older brother, Constantine, stood to inherit the throne first, but when Constantine chose to marry a Polish girl with no royal blood, he relinquished his claim to the throne.
    They wanted a free Russian state, with a federal government and constitution, instead of government under the Czar.
  • Czar Alexander II Emancipates the Serfs

    Czar Alexander II Emancipates the Serfs
    Serfs were granted the full rights of free citizens, gaining the rights to marry without having to gain consent, to own property and to own a business. They were given larger spot of land.
  • The Russo-Japanese War

    Japanese naval attack on Port Arthur
    Russia persuaded Germany and France to join her in applying pressure on the Japanese
  • The Revolution of 1905

    The Revolution of 1905
    Russia called for a change in their government. It was started by troops opening fire on marchers in St. Petersburg on January 9, 1905, a date which has since been called "Bloody Sunday."

    In the beginning of World War I, the Russian Empire reached from Finland in the West all the way to Afghanistan and China in the East. In February 1917, a food riot led to a revolution

    Rasputin was dead and Lenin was out of the country. By the start of 1917, the people of Russia were very angry. Workers went on strike. People were locked out of work.
  • Czar Nicholas II abdicates the Russian throne

    Czar Nicholas II abdicates the Russian throne
    They though they were suppose to be taking a family picture. Instead they closed the door and they were all shot to death. They were killed.
  • Bloody Sunday

    600 civil rights marchers headed east out of Selma
    Then Shot were li off and many people were wounded and many more people were killed. Thats when Nicholas got his nickname
  • The Assassination of Alexander II

    A bomb went off. Many were wounded.
    Who ever did it was arrested immediatly.
    He lived for a few hours, but then he was left there bleeding to death.
