  • The Great Northern War

    The Great Northern War
    It was a war between Poland, Russia, and Denmark. The war was over a treaty. The treaty deprived Russia access to the Baltic Sea. Also, Sweden allied with Denmark.
  • Decemberist Revolt

    Decemberist Revolt
    The Decemberest Revolt was an unsucessful uprising by a small group of nobles and army officers. The group of people wanted a Constitutional monarchy. The Czar executed five leaders and exiled hundreds to Sieberia.
  • Alexander II's Emancipation of the Serfs

    Alexander II's Emancipation of the Serfs
    The cazr was given a choice to either let the serfs become agricultre labourers and completely dependent on the landlords. The second choice was to have the serfs be transformed into an independent social class of their own. The Czar chose to let them be independent; this law was put into effect six years after the cazr's accession.

    The Cossacks where the ones who killed him. They did this becuase they were ordered to.

    The Russo- Japanses war was fought between Japan and Russia. This war was over Russia trying to gain power over Japan. Japan wasn't going to let this happen so they faught back.

    Bloody Sunday was a massacre in St. Petersburg. It killed 96 and injured 333 people. This was all due to people going on strike and the government gunned them down.

    This revolution icluded strikes, peasant unrest, and military munities. It lead to the constitutional monarchy. It also created the DUMA and multi- party system.

    Russia influenced Germany and Austria- Hungry to form a Dual Alliance to counter against Russian influence. This alliance later bacame stronger and formed a triple alliance.

    The czar abdicated his throne in favor of his son and heir tothe throne Alexie. His abdication ended the Romanov Dynasty. The people's response to the abdication was delight, relief, fear, anger, and confusion.

    This revolution was due to the abdication of Nicholas II. After this Russia turned into a Russian Provisional Government. This form of government is an alliance between liberals and socialists who wanted political reform.
