    There were military officals staged against Tsar Nicholas I. The rebels were liberals who were thretented by the new ruler's veiws, but they were defeted by the tsar's forces. The result in this revolt was Nicholas I implemented several new regulations to prevent the spread of liberal movement.

    Tsar Alexander II Emancipates asked in frount of Moscow to consider emancipation of the serfs. He thought it would be better to begin the abolish selfdom from above instead of waiting it to rise from below.

    Nicholas was crowned on May 26, 1894. He wasn't trained nor inclined to to rule and that didn't help the autocracy in the area that was desprite for change.

    It was started over by who would claim domance in Korea and Manchuria. Russia then pressured China to grant a lease for the Port Arthur.

    A group led by the racial priest was marching over to the czar's, Nicholas, winter palce in St.Pertersburg to make demands. A fire was started on the demonstrators killing hundreds. Riots broke out thorught Russia.

    It started with peaceful protests on Januarry 22nd. 150,000 people were out in the cold protesting about there lifestyle. They made it clear that they wanted Nicholas to help them.

    Russia did not do well in World War 1. They didn't have enough food or guns and was badly led. They envaded Germany but the they pushed the Russian forces back. They pulled out of the war in 1917.
