Events Leading up to the Russian Revolution

  • The Great Northern War

    The Great Northern War
    This was a war in which many of the contrys in Europe fought in.
    It was around the the Baltic Sea.
  • The Decembrist Revolt

    The Decembrist Revolt
    A small group of army officers tryed to over throw the czar. Nicholas 1 then crushed the revlot and executed five all other were sent to Siberia
  • Czar Alexander II Emancipated the Serfs

    Czar Alexander II Emancipated the Serfs
    The czar tryed to make the people of Russia by giving the selfs more rights but it came a part about two years later.
  • The Assassination of Alexander II

    The Assassination of Alexander II
    Alexander was assassinated in St. Petersburg when a bomb exploted giving him mortal wounds.
  • The Russo-Japanese War

    The Russo-Japanese War
    This is a war in which Russia and Japan fight in. Japan attackes Russia for fear that its growing in size. Russians lose the fight and makes the czar look bad.
  • The Revolution of 1905

    The Revolution of 1905
    In this time works striked and many people started up risings. Most of the people were mad at the czar and the goverment.
  • Bloody Sunday

    Bloody Sunday
    Father Gapon lead thousands of people to the czar. When soldiers shot the crowd. 3000 died and thousands more were sent to Siberia.
  • World War I

    World War I
    Russia is at war with Germany and Austria. Losing the war makes the czar look worse.
  • The March Revolution

    The March Revolution
    The Russian goverment fell and the Sovets came into power. Kicked out the royal family untill later.
  • Czar Nicholas II abdicates the Russian throne

    Czar Nicholas II abdicates the Russian throne
    THe last czar of Russa is forced to give up the throne. Then he and his family along with all of there servents were sent to Sieria. Then later in life they were shot and killed.
